A Must Visit: Pinnacles National Park

“Freedom is the oxygen of the soul,” Moshe Dayan

Ever since I blogged about the Pinnacle National Park in Paicines, CA, about 45 minutes south of Hollister, CA, I have been itching to go for a hike.  After seeing some friends make the journey, I decided to round up a group for a 5k route through the cave to the reservoir.  It was a good workout with nice views, and I encourage everyone to make the trip.

Here are 5 things to remember before you set out for the path:

  1. Know where you are going and make sure you print directions. GPS does not work, so you have to go back to traditional methods. OR just look for directional signs
  2. Wear sunscreen and use bug repellent
  3. Dress in layers to be comfortable and wear sturdy shoes
  4. Pack your backpack full of water, nutritional snacks, flashlights, sunglasses, cameras, first aid kit
  5. Pay your vehicle fee
