“Freedom is the oxygen of the soul,” Moshe Dayan
Ever since I blogged about the Pinnacle National Park in Paicines, CA, about 45 minutes south of Hollister, CA, I have been itching to go for a hike. After seeing some friends make the journey, I decided to round up a group for a 5k route through the cave to the reservoir. It was a good workout with nice views, and I encourage everyone to make the trip.
Here are 5 things to remember before you set out for the path:
- Know where you are going and make sure you print directions. GPS does not work, so you have to go back to traditional methods. OR just look for directional signs
- Wear sunscreen and use bug repellent
- Dress in layers to be comfortable and wear sturdy shoes
- Pack your backpack full of water, nutritional snacks, flashlights, sunglasses, cameras, first aid kit
- Pay your vehicle fee
