Monday Real Estate Market Myth: Getting an Inspection

Myth: Home inspections are pointless in purchasing a home.

FALSE:  Home inspections are in the best interest of a home buyer.  Inspectors are professionals who are trained to see things beyond the average view.  If an inspector has findings that cost thousands of dollars in repairs such as needing a new roof that leaks into the attic, then the buyer has an opportunity to re-negotiate the purchase of the property or cancel the transaction.  On some mortgage loans the lender requires certain inspections, so the reports are items of value.  Protect your investment, not only now but for the future.
